2nd and 3rd Meeting Recap!

Hello all! Sorry I didn't put up a recap from our 2nd meeting - midterms get the best of everyone :-(

2nd Meeting 10/21:
We had Ms. Diana Barriga come out and speak about Breakthrough San Juan Capistrano and its amazing teaching opportunity. Visit http://www.breakthroughsjc.org/ for more information! We then played "Two Truths and a Lie" - and we found out some pretty interesting things about each other. We had another raffle and Leanne won a lanyard AND a Starbucks gift card!

3rd Meeting 11/4:
Sharon Choi came in to talk about Teach for America, and she even brought along her friend Ashely who just got hired for the program! For more information, please visit http://www.teachforamerica.org/. We played a really fun ice breaker that showcased all of our amazing dance moves ;-) and we played an educational game of Jeopardy. "Team Pi" won and now Gabby owes them food.

First Meeting Recap!

Hey guys! It was so wonderful to see familiar faces from the Anteater Involvement fair and the Bio 14/PS 5 classes I visited. Thank you all for coming to the meeting, participating in our games, and learning more about what our club has to offer. I had a blast playing charades, raffling out t-shirts and gift cards, and eating In-N-Out with y'all :-)

To become a member of CTC, click here! Click "Membership Application", print it, and fill it out! You can either fill it out electronically and email it to us at calteachclub.uci@gmail.com or bring it to the next meeting on Tuesday, October 21 (location TBA). Some of the benefits of being an active member of CTC include saving money on the new club shirt and getting rides to all socials/events/conferences (some of them can be pretty far!)

At our next meeting we will talk about the future events the Cal Teach Program is having, more research/job/tutoring opportunities, and we will be doing our first teaching-related, hands-on activity!
